Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Billing Manager with 8-10 years of experience in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will oversee the billing operations, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, and will play a crucial role in maintaining financial stability and operational efficiency within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

Billing Operations:

  • Manage and oversee the entire billing process for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contract terms.
  • Prepare and review invoices, ensuring timely submission to clients.
  • Track project costs and ensure they align with budget forecasts.

Financial Reporting:

  • Generate and analyse billing reports for management review.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all billing transactions.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to reconcile billing discrepancies and resolve any issues.

Client Relations:

  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding billing inquiries and payment statuses.
  • Address and resolve client billing issues promptly.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Team Leadership:

    • Supervise and mentor the billing team, providing guidance and support.
    • Conduct regular training sessions to keep the team updated on industry best practices and software tools.
    • Evaluate team performance and implement improvement plans as necessary.

    Compliance and Standards:

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
    • Implement and enforce internal controls to prevent errors and fraud.

    Process Improvement:

    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in billing operations.
    • Work with other departments to streamline workflows and improve communication.

    Experience:

    • 8-10 years of experience in billing, finance, or accounting, with at least 5 years in the construction industry.c
    • Proven experience in managing a billing team and overseeing complex billing operations.

    Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of construction billing practices, including AIA billing, lien waivers, and progress billings.
    • Proficiency in billing and accounting software,
    • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.

    Working Conditions:

    Environment:

    • Office-based role with occasional site visits.
    • May require extended hours during peak billing periods.
